My Writing Inspiration

What inspires us all to write? Inspiration can come about in many forms. One can be inspired by a bird flying by, another can be inspired by just the stars in the sky. I’ve always been interested in knowing how one gets inspiration for whatever creative outlet they have and thought maybe you are too. I’ve listed some of my favorite ways to be inspired below. Let me know if you get inspired in these ways also.

My Writing Inspiration

A part of blogging is reading other blogs, and searching for new ways to be inspired. We have to create engaging content every week and those ideas have to come from something so of course, I had to include this. Some of my favorite blogs to visit for inspiration and new post ideas are theeverygirl, tameramowry, and notesfromjoana.

Who doesn’t love reading a good book? Well, I know not everyone enjoys reading but If you’re here I assume you do. Or what about a good magazine? There’s something to read for everyone. I’ve always thought about writing my own book someday, so it’s always inspiring reading something I could see myself writing. It’s inspiring getting into the imagination of others, but especially other writers.

Cute Stationery Supplies

If you read my previous post where I shared my notebook collection, you know that I love getting a new notebook or journal to spark up some inspiration. I get ideas for things to write as soon as I pick a cute notebook out and end up writing the ideas down in an idea notebook lol.

Ahh, my love for poetry. Poetry is deep-rooted within me, for as long as I can remember I’ve been turning my heartache and pain into poems to get me through it all. I’ve written something for every emotion but mainly pain. Which will be included in this list actually.

How could you not be inspired by music? Sometimes it even makes you want to get up and dance. I’m listening to music as I type this. When I hear a new song I love I’m instantly inspired to write my own. Jhene Aiko, SZA, and Alina Baraz are usually my go to’s for my favorite inspirational songs but there are so many others!

I’ve always noticed and been mesmerized by natures beauty but recently I got into nature photography. I am no photographer but I’ve captured some beautiful shots of the sunset, I watch and take pictures almost every night. The sun may set every night, but it also rises every morning. Nature inspires me to write about the positive things in life.

We’ve all gone through something right? Whether it be a tragic event or a spectacular event, we usually take something from the experience. We usually grow from the experience in the end. Our failures, accomplishments, love stories and heartache are great ways to be inspired to tell a story through poetry, a song, or even a blog post. They may even inspire others.

My dreams/Daydreaming

Sometimes I find that my dreams are so symbolic that I have to write them down so I won’t forget them. We all know how it is to wake up from an interesting dream trying to put all of the fuzzy pieces back together in our minds. Dreams can make great stories! But not only the dreams I have when I sleep, I find myself daydreaming numerous times a day and often those daydreams lead me right to a pen and paper.

Social media

You’re probably wondering how one gets inspired by social media right? Have you ever just scrolled through all the statuses in your feed and related to a post? When I’m on Twitter, I find that I can easily be inspired by many tweets. Everyone is just tweeting away their thoughts and feelings especially if you follow any of those poetry or emotion accounts. Or if someone posts a quote I’ve never heard before, Instagram is great for searching quotes and inspiration through tags.

Positive Feedback

A nice encouraging comment reminding me of the purpose of all of this, or just being able to know that I’ve inspired someone else inspires me to continue writing! Without the people that support me, I’d still be writing but I wouldn’t be here writing on this blog.

I’d love to know how you get inspired to write. Let me know in the comments.

It’s funny because, for a while I wished I would stop daydreaming so much, it was a huge distraction in school lol and also that I would stop experiencing things so tensely, but everything has made me wiser and a better writer.

Social media, positive feedback, and cute stationery supplies definitely inspires me to write. I love opening up Pinterest for ideas or even finding a cute notebook at PaperSource.

I’ll have to check out PaperSource. Pinterest has helped me a lot when I’m lacking inspiration for a blog post✨

Initially, I was inspired to start my blog because I wanted to write everyday and the daily prompts/blog challenges inspired me and they definitely still do but now all of these things you listed inspire me, as well!! 😊😊

Experiences really help shape my writing and just generally reading up on the news and what people are discussing. Also, looking at my past work, seeing which posts were successful and if they can inspire anything. Lovely post girl!
